Wienermobiles To Compete In “Wienie 500” At Indianapolis Motor Speedway

They’re getting the wieners warmed up and ready for action. Six Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles will race in the first-ever “Wienie 500” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday. The giant hot dog-shaped vehicles, each representing a different U.S. regional hot dog like the New York Dog or the Chili Dog, will compete on the famous 2.5-mile oval track during Carb Day. It’s the first time in over a decade that all six Wienermobiles have been together, and their first competitive race ever.

The drivers, called Hotdoggers, will wear special hot dog-themed race suits. The winner will celebrate in the “Wiener’s Circle” with a condiment spray instead of champagne. Fans can watch the race live on the FOX Sports app at 2 pm and even bet on the winner through DraftKings for a chance at a $10,000 prize. The event kicks off the Indy 500 weekend, where 330,000 fans are expected to eat nearly 30,000 hot dogs.
