Over A Dozen Bozeman Police Officers Caught Playing “Crime Bingo” On Duty: Thirteen Bozeman, Montana police officers, including two sergeants, were found to have participated in an on-duty game dubbed “crime bingo” in January. The game involved officers checking off bingo squares for specific types of arrests or incidents, such as conducting a vehicle search or responding to certain calls. Bozeman Police Chief Jim Veltkamp stated that while the game lasted 12 days, internal and external reviews concluded that none of the 24 cases during this period were improperly influenced. Disciplinary actions were taken against those involved, with supervisors receiving more severe consequences. Chief Veltkamp says the department is addressing the issue to prevent future occurrences.
