Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” rocketed to the top from fifth to first place on Billboard’s Global 200 Chart. The 1994 modern holiday classic now has a total of nine weeks at Number One cumulatively, after it topped the chart for four weeks each in the 2020 and 2021 holiday seasons. Notably – “All I Want For Christmas Is You” reached number one a week earlier than 2020 and 2021, meaning it may break its record of four weeks in a row at number one this year.
Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy” stayed steady at number two on the Global 200, while Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” dropped to number three on the chart. Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” originally released in 1958, jumped way up the chart to the number 4 song this week on the Global 200, and Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” from 1984, grabbed the last spot in the top five, showing holiday music is to dominate the airwaves.
