Japanese authorities are urgently recalling up to 16-thousand toy guns known as the “Real Gimmick Mini Revolver.” These plastic pistols were distributed as prizes in arcade crane games but were later found to be capable of firing real bullets, which was definitely not planned.
The National Police Agency tested the models and discovered they have metal or ultra-hard plastic hammers and barrels wide enough for small-caliber ammunition. Although marketed with harmless plastic bullets for play, officials warn these toys pose a lethal risk. The recall targets multiple Chinese-made toy gun models that violate Japan’s strict firearms laws and could potentially cause serious injury.
