Luciano D’Adamo, woke up from a coma in 2019 believing it was 1980 after he was involved in a tragic hit-and-run accident that erased nearly 40 years of his memory. When he regained consciousness, he thought he was 24 and was unable to recognize himself in the mirror as an older man with grey hair. His wife, who he last remembered as a 19-year-old girlfriend, was a stranger to him, and he even struggled to accept his now 30-year-old son.
The memory loss left D’Adamo shocked and disoriented, forcing him to adjust to a drastically changed world. With no recollection of modern technology, he was shocked by mobile phones and had to be reminded by family that his mother had passed away years ago.
Over the past five years, doctors and psychologists have been helping him piece his life back together and adjust to the present. Sadly, despite his struggles, the hit-and-run driver responsible for his condition was never found, leaving him without justice or compensation.
