The Movie Cars Americans Most Want To Drive

Americans love their cars and a lot of us have a dream car we would love to drive, given the chance. According to a new survey of 2-thousand U.S. adults, 53% have a dream car in mind, with a third holding onto theirs since they were teenagers.

  • When it comes to their dream car, 39% of respondents say just thinking about it brings them happiness.
  • Six out of 10 Americans would choose to own their dream car over owning their dream home.
  • As for how much they’d be willing to spend on their dream car, 43% say they’d pay more than $100-thousand on theirs.

So what makes a car a “dream?” The top factors that influence people’s choice of dream car include:

  • Technology (26%)
  • Performance (like handling, acceleration) (25%)
  • Safety features (25%)
  • Reliability (23%)
  • Emotional appeal (including childhood dreams & sentimental value (20%)
  • Fuel efficiency (20%)
  • And Comfort (20%)

According to the survey, the Top Five Dream Car Models are:

  • BMW M4 (17%)
  • Tesla Model S (16%)
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class (16%)
  • Chevrolet Corvette (14%)
  • Ford Mustang (14%)
