A shopper made a ghoulish discovery over the weekend by finding an actual human skull in a Florida thrift shop. The customer reportedly spotted the skull in the seasonal Halloween section and reported it to the store’s owner who claimed it had been in storage for years, according to authorities.
Is this legal? The short answer is…no. Florida law states that “no person shall knowingly offer to purchase or sell … any human organ or tissue for valuable consideration.” The Sheriff’s Office is currently working with the local medical examiner to run tests, though they don’t believe foul play was involved in the discovery.
