A giant 4-ton potato on a truck rolled into Richmond, Virginia yesterday as part of a cross-country tour by the Idaho Potato Commission. The big spud, which is 28 feet long and 12 feet wide, stopped at Brown’s Island to let people take photos and learn fun facts about Idaho potatoes.
The tour, now in its 13th year, aims to show off the state’s famous crop in a quirky way. Visitors got free potato-themed goodies like tater tots and temporary tattoos. The potato has been traveling since August and will keep going until June, visiting places like festivals and grocery stores.
