A driver in the UK has faced a terrifying ordeal when his electric Jaguar I-Pace malfunctioned, causing it to accelerate to 100 mph leaving him fearing for his life and the lives of those in his path. Nathan Owens, 31, recounted the harrowing experience, which occurred as he tried to overtake another car on the highway. Owens claims the brakes failed, and he was forced to endure a nerve-wracking 35-minute ride while contacting the police to help him during the event.
Thankfully, a police escort cleared the road until the electric vehicle eventually ran out of miles and came to a gentle stop. What’s worse, Owens revealed that similar incidents had already happened, raising concerns about the vehicle’s safety despite a thumbs up from inspections. Jaguar Land Rover says it’s currently investigating the incident.
