In case you thought you had problems, a hospital in Nepalgunj, Nepal, is seeing a surge in patients hurt by monkeys that break into homes and shops. Bheri Hospital says 40 people have sought treatment for monkey bites over the past month and a half, with doctors warning that attacks inside homes are a growing concern. Residents say the animals move in groups, damage property and bite or scratch people who try to chase them away.
One man said monkeys attacked three members of his family after entering their home, while another was hurt trying to remove a group that had wrecked a shop. People are asking city leaders to act, and Mayor Prashant Bista says officials are working on a plan to protect residents. Doctors advise anyone bitten by a monkey to seek medical care right away.
