California Sends Cease-And-Desist To Robot-Human Fight Promoter

California regulators have ordered a company to stop holding or promoting fights involving humans without state approval and a license. Robot Entertainment Kombat received the order September 30th after social media star Frankie LaPenna fought three robots in San Francisco.

He beat two of them, including a six-foot machine named “Terminator,” which knocked him across the cage with a kick before he pushed it over, but a faster robot called “Predator” wore him down because it kept getting back up. Company chief Cix Liv argues the rules describe boxing as a fight between two people. The dispute centers on whether existing fight rules cover humans facing machines.
