Christmas Carolers Man Breaks World Record By Singing Christmas Songs For 42 Hours Straight

A man in England just broke a Guinness World Record by singing Christmas songs for 42 hours straight without losing his voice. Sixty-three-year-old Dave Purchase owns a sandwich shop in Gloucester and rotated through 38 holiday tunes, from “Jingle Bells” to hits by Mariah Carey and Wham. He started at midnight on Dec. 12th and finished after belting out 684 songs.

The previous record was 40 hours, set in Nigeria in 2024. Purchase admitted the challenge was tough, saying he nearly quit around the 32-hour mark and felt like he was hallucinating; a dementia choir, a children’s choir, and local supporters helped keep him going. His team has submitted video and photos to Guinness for official review.
