Residents of Rochdale, England, are creeped out after a 27-foot-tall baby doll named Lilly was installed in the town square. The giant doll, with moveable limbs and a mouth that opens and closes, is part of a campaign to encourage schoolchildren to discuss the environment. School groups are set to “speak” to Lilly about nature and animals.
While the children seem unfazed, many adults find the doll “creepy.” One passerby said, “It’s just creepy with its eyes shut, never mind open.” Another described it as the “ugliest baby I’ve ever seen,” and some compared it to the doll in the horror series “Squid Game.” Lilly is expected to remain in the town center until at least October 29.
