Doctors in Missouri are mystified after finding a living fly flapping around a man’s intestines during a routine colon cancer screening. The 63-year-old patient had come in for a colonoscopy but when docs put the camera inside him, they found a fully intact fly in his intestines. The theory is that the fly ended up there after the man possibly ate contaminated lettuce before the appointment.
As for how the insect survived the journey through the man’s body, docs theorize that fly larvae were on some food the man ate, and after miraculously surviving his stomach acid matured into an adult fly. This is a great time to remind you that washing your fruits and veggies is a must before popping them in your mouth.
