Trend For Buying Books But Never Reading Them On The Rise

While some say they get comfort from buying new books, others say they buy books just to decorate their bookshelves. Aaron Surtees, founder of City Hypnosis and Subconsciously app, says the practice is an example of ‘procrastination mindset,’ where people get a hit of dopamine from buying a new book but then get distracted by other things like the internet.
