Hell is for sale, and it’s surprisingly affordable. The unincorporated hamlet of Hell, Michigan, located off Patterson Lake Road in Putnam Township near Pinckney, about 20 miles northwest of Ann Arbor, is on the market for $625,000. The listing from Swisher Commercial includes four parcels totaling 7.21 acres and two buildings: a 2,000-square-foot former restaurant and a 1,644-square-foot souvenir shop called Screams Souvenirs from Hell, which also houses the Helloween and the Creamatory ice cream parlor.
The property also includes a wedding chapel and a mini-golf course, which is the perfect way to celebrate your marriage in Hell, obviously. The listing describes it as a “Turnkey Novelty Retail Destination” with “Strong Branding & Customer Loyalty.” Hell has tried to sell before, most notably in 2016 for $900,000, but those deals fell through. The hamlet has long leaned into its name with tourism gimmicks, including selling people the title of mayor for a day and letting visitors mail things with the Hell postmark.
