Hinds County School District Assistant Principal Toby Price read a book named “I Need A New Butt” to second-grade students over Zoom and he’s now been fired for it. Price had been the assistant principal for three years; a letter from the Superintendent cited “unnecessary embarrassment, a lack of professionalism and impaired judgment” from Price.
The book has a suggested age range from four to 10 years old and tells the story of a boy who notices that his butt has ‘a crack in it’ and goes looking for a new one; they’ll hold a public hearing on the situation with the school board but a date hasn’t been set, and the school district told the press they cannot comment due to pending litigation.
