Want to stay on the Moon and have a few million dollars burning a hole in your pocket? A Silicon Valley startup called GRU Space is now taking reservations for a lunar hotel it plans to open around 2032. Deposits range from $250,000 to $1 million, and the total cost of a stay could top $10 million once the rocket trip is included. The hotel would start as inflatable habitats that can hold up to four guests for multi-day visits.
Guests could take part in moonwalks, drive rovers, and even play lunar golf. Founder Skyler Chan, who started the company at age 22, sees the project as a first step toward humans living in space long-term. The hotel doesn’t exist yet, but the company says that’s not stopping people from already signing up.
