A Malaysian woman, Nurul Syazwani, recently revealed that after six years of caring for her bedridden husband following a car accident, he divorced her and married another woman upon his recovery. Nurul had documented her life as his caretaker on social media, showing how she fed him through a tube, bathed him, and tended to his needs. She gained thousands of followers on Facebook, many of whom were shocked when she posted about the divorce and his remarriage.
Many expressed their shock that her husband could repay her kindness by leaving her right after his recovery. Despite the public backlash, Nurul later clarified that she felt her ex-husband had “fulfilled his responsibilities,” emphasizing that they had agreed to work together to raise their daughter.
In an effort to shield her ex-husband and his new wife from criticism, Nurul even deleted her original Facebook post and apologized for the attention it had caused. She explained that her intention wasn’t to expose or shame anyone. “I want to apologize to my ex-husband, his new wife, and their families regarding the viral post on Facebook,” she wrote, urging her followers to stop bashing him.
