Woman Finds Needle Left “Down There” During Childbirth After 18 Years Of Pain

A woman in Thailand recently discovered that a needle left inside her during childbirth has been causing her intense pain for nearly 18 years. Now 36, she recalls that a nurse accidentally dropped the needle while stitching her after delivery, and although a doctor tried to retrieve it, he decided to proceed with the procedure to avoid further complications. Since then, she has endured constant pain, with an X-ray last year finally revealing the needle’s presence, prompting her to seek help from the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women.

Due to financial difficulties, the woman reached out to the foundation, which arranged transportation for her frequent hospital visits and coordinated with a public hospital to schedule surgery to remove the needle. “Her family is poor, so she asked Paveena to help,” the foundation shared on its website. The surgery has been postponed multiple times as the needle continues to shift, and there’s no set date yet for its removal. It remains unclear if the woman will pursue legal action for medical malpractice.
