What’s the most bored you’ve ever been? A Nigerian woman most likely has you beaten, as she’s broken an 18-year-old Guinness World Record by counting out loud all the way to 1,070,000. Favour Ogechi Ani started on October 8th of last year and finished on December 16th, spending up to 14 hours a day counting for 70 straight days, all while livestreaming on YouTube to verify the attempt.
The old record was a count to 1,000,000, and rather than stop one number past it, she kept going for another 70,000. She said she was driven by a desire to push her own limits and never seriously thought about quitting; Guinness confirmed the record this week. “The final day of my counting was emotional,” she said. “Saying that last number was a mix of relief and joy at the same time.”
