A young woman got quite a scare on the Boston subway Monday night when a man dressed head to toe in black, with his face covered by a mask and his hood pulled tight, extended his phone toward her, displaying the message “I am Satan,” then stared at her. The woman reported the encounter to transit police at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s Forest Hills station around 10:45 pm.
Officers tracked down the 22-year-old man, who had a different take on the situation entirely. He told police he was just flirting and trying to be funny, saying he was hoping to get her number. Officers informed him that his approach was not, in fact, funny, and he was removed from the station. The woman was escorted to her destination by police. No names were released, and obviously no numbers were exchanged.
