If it’s not one thing, it’s another these days. A flock of wild turkeys is causing chaos in a Wisconsin neighborhood, chasing mail carriers, blocking traffic, and going after kids. Lawrence Meyer, a resident of Janesville, caught video of the birds chasing a postal worker. He said his 8-year-old son was also targeted while crossing the street. Meyer said the turkeys were cool at first, but have become a real problem.
A wildlife expert said the flock is more aggressive than usual, and suggested people make themselves look bigger, perhaps by using an umbrella or a garbage bag, to scare the birds off. Meyer started a petition with 70 signatures to have the turkeys removed. The Department of Natural Resources said if things don’t improve, the birds could be relocated.
