What Happens To Your Body And Mind When You Quit Weed

Laws regarding medical and recreational weed are always fluctuating, and the use of the drug has never been more socially accepted. Still, there are those who eventually make the call to cut it out of their lives…even if it’s just for a short hiatus. As with any like product, going cold turkey can come with signs of withdrawal…especially for regular users.

According to the American Addiction Centers, withdrawal symptoms can show themselves within 24-to-72 hours of quitting. During the first week, chronic users might experience anxiety or low mood, headaches, sweating, nausea, stomach pain and/or insomnia. After two weeks, those signs of withdrawal subside, though it could be slightly longer depending on how much THC a person’s been taking in. After around 30 days, all signs of marijuana will have exited the body.
