Utah Woman Is Fourth Person To Die At Grand Canyon This Year After Falling

A longtime Utah government official died Monday evening after falling 20 feet at the Grand Canyon while on a boating trip. Margaret ‘Meg’ Osswald, assistant director of the Utah Division of Water Quality, was on the sixth day of a private river tour when the accident happened.

Grand Canyon National Park is unfortunately familiar with this kind of thing; it was just 11 days ago that another woman fell out of her raft on the Colorado River and died. Overall, four people have lost their lives in the park so far this year.
