In an interview with “Vulture,” Rock and Roll Hall of Fame chairman John Sykes revealed just how intense the discussions about adding someone can be, describing it as “a cross between an intellectual conversation and WWE.” He also admitted that adding everyone’s favorite polka artist, “Weird Al” Yankovic, has “come up in conversations.” Unfortunately, he also shares that, for now, it looks like it would take a lot to secure a spot in the Hall. “He’s never made it close to the ballot,” Sykes admits, while also praising Yankovic as “a genius” for his music. Elsewhere in the conversation, Sykes shares that, at the end of the day, there’s a huge backlog of deserving acts.
