Teen Scored $15k Over Puffy Dorito

An Australian teen got a big surprise when she recently opened a bag of Doritos – an odd-shaped chip…basically a “Puffy Dorito.” Like most kids do, that’s when 13-year-old Rylee Stuart shared a video on TikTok. “I found a Puff Dorito,” she wrote. “Is this valuable or should I just eat it?” Some commenters urged her to try to sell it “for $5,000” so she put the chip in a plastic bag and then listed it on Ebay. The starting auction price was $0.99, but bidding went crazy and the high bid got up to $77,450! The listing was eventually pulled due to unsubstantiated bids. But that’s not all. Doritos Australia heard about it and decided to gift her an award of $15,000 as a celebration of her “entrepreneurship” and “ingenuity.”

“We’ve been so impressed with Rylee’s boldness and entrepreneurial spirit,” says Doritos Australia chief marketing officer Vanita Pandley. “So we wanted to make sure the Stuart family were rewarded for their creativity and love for Doritos.”
