Subway Franchisees: New Sandwiches Are Too Dangerous

Subway announced a new line of Fresh Melts sandwiches this week and they’re described as “a triple portion of cheese that is grilled to perfection.” Sounds great…but there’s only one problem: the North American Association of Subway Franchisees (NAASF) says that they’re too dangerous to make!

The NAASF says these sandwiches not only pose a risk of employees getting burned and damage the franchisees’ toasters, but also that they are too “operationally complex.” Subway is pushing back and says they’re “ensuring that our franchisees and hard-working sandwich artists are able to safely and consistently execute a quality meal that guests expect.”

Who knew grilled cheese could be so controversial.
