Study: People Who Watch Lots Of TV Go To The Bathroom More At Night

If you’re someone who gets up multiple times a night to “hit the head,” it could be your TV’s fault. Experts now suggest that adults who spend five or more hours a day watching their screens are more likely to get up to tinkle, (medically known as nocturia), throughout the night.

Researchers from China’s Wenzhou Medical University found that participants who watched at least five hours of TV per day had at least a 48-percent higher risk of experiencing nocturia compared with those who watched TV for less than one hour per day. The team thinks the link between the boob tube and needing to empty your bladder could be as harmless as the fact that people down more drinks while binge-watching and as dangerous as having Type 2 diabetes.
