A venomous red-bellied black snake was discovered nestled among a child’s stuffed animals on a bed in an Australian home. When the serpent was spotted, professional snake catcher Bryce Lockett carefully removed it from the bedroom. Video shows Lockett moving a toy aside and grabbing the snake by its tail. He then guided it into a long net on the floor, making sure it was safely captured.
Red-bellied black snakes are pretty shy but can become aggressive if provoked. Bites from these snakes can cause symptoms such as swelling, sweating, muscle pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, though severe cases requiring hospitalization are rare.
