Scientists Working On “Exo-Leggings” To Help Elderly People Walk

Scientists have come up with a pair of pants that could help older people walk without the risk of falling. They’re called “exo-leggings” and they’re made from soft material that reduces the amount of energy it takes to walk by up to 12%, according to the study.

Experts think these powerful pants will help older people be more stable when they walk since their center of gravity moves toward their standing leg as they step forward with the other leg. Meanwhile, the trousers could make other people feel like superheroes. Dr. Myunghee Kim, co-author of a study on the exo-leggings suggests, “These could help an able-bodied person who is tired to climb a difficult hill or keep going during a difficult hike.”
