A Chinese humanoid robot set a Guinness World Record by walking 66 miles in three days without shutting down. The AgiBot A2, which stands about five feet six inches tall, started its journey from Suzhou on the evening of November 10th and arrived at Shanghai’s Bund waterfront area on November 13th. The robot walked continuously for 66.04 miles, navigating highways, city streets, bridges, and various surfaces including asphalt, tiled pavement, and areas with little lighting at night.
It followed all traffic rules during the trek and used a hot-swappable battery system that allowed it to keep operating while switching power packs. The robot is equipped with 28 motors, dual GPS modules, laser scanners, and infrared cameras to help it navigate. AgiBot says the A2 is designed for customer service roles and can chat, read lips, recognize faces, and perform tasks like threading a needle. After completing the walk, the robot joked with reporters that it needed a new pair of shoes. The company has shipped over 1,000 units in 2025.
