Parents Name All 11 Kids Using Same Four Letters

Some families choose names for their children that all begin with the same first letter, like the Kardashians and the Duggars. But one family in Belgium has a unique naming pattern for their kids, all 11 of them. And they plan to keep it up when their 12th child is born next year.

Gwenny Blanckaert and Marino Vaneeno named their first son Alex, after Marino’s stepdad and their second son Axel, without even realizing both names were made up of the same letters. So it started as a coincidence, but the couple decided to continue the trend of names made up only of the letters A, E, L and X for all their kids. And so far, they have 11, with one on the way, so that’s a lot of names made of those four letters. Their brood of seven girls and four boys currently consists of:

  • Alex, 13
  • Axel, 12
  • Xela, 11
  • Lexa, 10
  • Xael, nine
  • Xeal, eight
  • Exla, five
  • Leax, four
  • Xale, two
  • Elax, one and six-month-old Alxe

While they’re still deciding on what the new baby boy will be named, the parents say this will be their last one. “Right from the start, we had the bar set at 12 and we will stick to that,” Gwenny says. “The day that we sit around the table with 12 children, our family is complete.”
