Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be a challenge, but bras apparently make denim look easy. A new Talker Research survey of 5-thousand women across the country finds that bras are the hardest clothing item to get just the right fit for, and more than half of women say they can’t wait to take theirs off when they get home.
The survey reveals:
- Bras topped the list of hardest clothing items to fit properly, according to 55% of women, followed by jeans at 50% and swimsuits at 33%.
- Over half (58%) say they’re eager to take their bra off when they get home, and 24% do it within the first minute.
- Nearly half of women (46%) say they still haven’t found their “perfect” bra.
- Almost four in 10 (38%) say they basically guess their bra size, while another 24% rely on trial and error.
- Part of the issue may be that nearly two-thirds (63%) have never had a professional bra fitting.
- Almost nine in ten (87%) say a better-fitting bra would boost their confidence at least somewhat.
- Finding clothes that fit does seem to get a little easier with age, with 92% of Gen Z reporting trouble compared with 83% of baby boomers.
The good news is that the problem may not be the person wearing the bra, but the fit itself. Experts recommend getting properly fitted and checking your size regularly, which could make that end-of-the-day urge to rip it off feel a whole lot less urgent.
