Yesterday, it was reported that Italy had provided Olympic athletes with 10K condoms in the Olympic Village, and they’d run out in just three days. Now, we’re learning that the reason why they ran out isn’t nearly as exciting and erotic as one might think. It turns out that the Olympic condoms are quite the collectors’ items, and many athletes grab as many as they can, but not for their intended purpose. Instead, they bring them back home and pass them out to friends as souvenirs. Though they ran out of the collectible condoms, Italian officials promise a rubber restock as soon as possible.
