While doing renovations on their backyard, Suzanne and Rich Gilson dug up around $1k in 1934 currency, an amount that is being reported to be the equivalent of around $21k in today’s money. The New Jersey couple were baffled about how the money got there, and after some investigation, they were blown away.
It turns out that their home, built in the 1920s, was a former brothel, and the money was tightly rolled and hidden in the ground inside glass jars. While it’s a lot of money, Rich says he has no plans to spend it because “the story is too good for what it’s worth.”
