New App Helps Commuters Track Subway Rats In NYC

A new app update is showing pulling back the curtain on just how rat-infested New York subway stations are. A trip-planning app called “Transit” has added a feature called the “The NYC Subway Rat Detector” where users can report sightings of the little rodents. In addition to the new feature, “Transit” released a “Ratistical Analysis” of its findings on its website showing “MTA’s busiest platform rat swarms.”

Needless to say, the MTA (Metro Transit Authority) isn’t on board with the app. “Given we have no idea of the methodology surrounding your rat census, we decline to comment,” says MTA spokesperson Kayla Shults.
