Netflix is giving the green light to a second season of “Squid Game.” The company took to Twitter to announce that the hit South Korean show is officially coming back.
“And now, Gi-hun returns,” director, writer and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk shares in a letter to fans. “The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming.”
He also teased new characters and plot developments in the new season, writing, “The man with ddakji might be back.” Hwang’s letter also points out just how popular the series was. “It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year,” he writes. “But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular series ever.”
