A woman in New Brunswick, Canada is recovering from a serious brain injury after being kicked in the head by a moose during a car crash, not just once but multiple times. Courtney Deveau and her boyfriend Zachary Legacy were driving on Highway 7 near Geary in early December when a moose stepped onto the road. The animal crashed through the windshield on Deveau’s side, and its legs struck her in the head at least twice as it tried to get free.
She was put in an induced coma and has since shown small signs of progress, including waking up, speaking a few words, and walking with help. Her family says a full recovery could take months. Legacy, who was driving, escaped with only minor injuries.
