Massive Hairball Set To Roll Through New York City Today

New York City has seen plenty of strange sights, but this week brings something new: a giant ball of hair rolling through the streets of Manhattan. The hair-care brand called K18 is unleashing what it calls “The Tumblehair” today, a massive fuzzy sphere made to represent 161 billion strands of hair. That number is meant to match how many hairs the company claims New Yorkers could keep by using its new hair serum.

The oversized hairball is scheduled to roll through Midtown, the West Village, Chinatown, and the Seaport before settling in the Meatpacking District. Once it arrives, curious New Yorkers can get an up-close look and even touch it, if that is something they have always dreamed of doing. The whole thing is really an elaborate ad tied to the launch of a $120 serum, but at least it’s more entertaining than a subway poster.
