Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has taken the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 once again! The track has climbed the ranks as the holiday season has started up, followed by other holiday classics like Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” which are in the number two and number four spot on the chart, respectively.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” was released in 1994, and has now spent a total of 14 weeks in the number one spot. It’s become only more popular as time has gone on, spending four weeks at number one in 2020 and 2021, and five weeks at number one in 2022.
But speaking of sleeper hits for the holidays…Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” actually hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100! This is the first time the song has hit number one on the chart since it debuted…65 years ago! As opposed to the Billboard Global 200, the Hot 100 is focused on just a songs performance in the U.S.
