As side-hustles go, this is one that most people would never think of. A father of four in England is making more than $30-thousand a year picking up dog waste from people’s yards. Thirty-nine-year-old Kyle Newby started his business called Pet Poo Pick last March after seeing similar services take off in the U.S. The builder from Derbyshire now has 35 regular customers who pay about $19 a week for his services.
He works 12 hours a week spread over two days and says he earns more in one day of poo scooping than in a 10-hour construction shift. Most of his customers are elderly or disabled and cannot clean up after their pets themselves. Newby uses a scoop and bag, then disinfects the area, and hopes to expand the business this year.
