Man Breaks State Fishing Record, Then Breaks It Again On The Same Day

Breaking a state fishing record that’s lasted for over 30 years means you’re having a great fishing trip, but what about when you break it twice on the same day? Scott Skafar caught a 10.2-pound burbot, a type of cod, in Lake Michigan, breaking the state’s previous burbot record by 2.5 pounds.

The previous record was set in 1990, but Skafar wasn’t done. He kept fishing and caught another burbot that beat the old record, this time by almost two pounds. While his second catch beat the old record, it didn’t beat the new record set by himself earlier in the day.
