Cute little dimples aren’t just for kids anymore. A procedure called “dimpleplasty” is on the rise as surgeons create little divots in one or both cheeks of patients in order to create the appearance of natural dimples. The surgery runs around $1,500 for permanent facial dents.
So, why are people flocking to the doc for this? According to psychologist Dr. Don Grant, dimples are a symbol of youth going all the way back to Shirly Temple, who was literally the poster child for the cute little cheek marks.
