Burning House Halloween Decoration Causing People To Call The Fire Department

No matter how it looks, the Halloween display of a South Carolina couple isn’t that hot. Amanda Peden and Sam Lee first put up their burning house decoration in 2023 using smoke machines, special lighting, and clever camera work. Since then, the Fountain Inn Fire Department has gotten regular calls from worried drivers passing by. The fire chief said his department stays in touch with the couple to make sure a real fire doesn’t break out. Every time they get a call, firefighters check in with the family and even send responders if the caller is really concerned.

The couple has become local celebrities for their decoration, with some people amazed by it while others think it should be illegal because it creates panic. Despite the house appearing to be on fire, Amanda, Sam, and their 15-year-old son are safely inside doing normal things like watching TV and having dinner. Amanda posts on Facebook and TikTok asking people not to call the fire department.
