Australian Designer Gets Attention With Underwear That Has Real Taxidermied Rats Sewn Into Them

An Australian shop called Rat Oddity Gizzard has gone viral for a strange line of women’s underwear. The shop has used taxidermied rats, meaning real rats that have been stuffed and preserved, to make odd items for years. But last October, the main designer decided to sew one of these dead rats onto a piece of women’s lingerie. She posted a photo on Instagram, and it took off from there.

The pieces are called LingeRAT, and they are not really made to be worn, for obvious reasons. Still, some people say they would happily put one on just to shock or scare their partner. Many wondered if the items were real, and they are…if you’re in the mood for some sexy rat time, a pair costs about $137. The attention has not all been kind, but with something this shocking, that comes with the territory. And yes, the shop even offers shipping worldwide.
