A lot of kids sneak out of the house at some point, but they rarely wind up over 1,600 miles away. Brazilian mother Daniele Marques told authorities her 9-year-old son Emanuel Marques de Oliveira was asleep at 5:30 a.m., but when she went back to check on him again two hours later he was gone.
He didn’t run down the street to a friend’s house. Emanuel went to a nearby airport and boarded a plane without a ticket after Googling “how to get on a plane unnoticed.” Why did he do it? To visit family members. Airport management and police have launched investigations to figure out how he pulled it off.
