20-Year-Old Student Is So Allergic To Cold That Ice Cream Could Kill Her

A 20-year-old student in England suffers from a condition called cold urticaria, which means she’s allergic to cold…anything cold. She can’t drink anything chilled and eating ice cream could kill her. Zuzanna Dmitruk has suffered from the condition since she was 10 when her fingertips would swell and itch if she was outside during the winter.

The condition has gotten worse as she’s gotten older, but Dmitruk says she’s learned to live with it. Temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit can trigger the problem, which causes swelling and itching. Dmitruk’s TikTok channel is devoted to sharing her life with the allergy to help others that suffer from cold urticaria know they’re not alone.
