Car-B-Que is June 27 in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG, N.Y. — A historic waterfront property will transform into a hub for classic automobiles, food trucks, and family entertainment as the 22nd Annual Car-B-Que classic car show returns to the city.

The regional summer kickoff event will take place Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fort La Presentation Association property, at 22 Albany Ave. Organized with support from the Fort La Presentation Association, the Kiwanis Club of Ogdensburg, and the City of Ogdensburg, the festival is free to attend.

In a bid to expand the event’s regional draw, organizers have introduced a new element this year by inviting antique dealers and collectible treasure vendors to showcase their wares alongside traditional automotive displays.

The daylong event features a broad lineup of activities for families and children, including free kids’ activities, a bounce house provided by J and J Bounce House and Party Rentals, and a “Touch-A-Truck” installation coordinated by the Kiwanis Club of Ogdensburg. Regional DJ Ryan Woodard will provide live music, and the event will host a 50/50 raffle.

Mobile food and beverage vendors will be on-site, including The Lemon Drop, Mr. Ding Ice Cream Truck, The Grub Tub, Thousand Island Winery, and In-Law Brewing Co., LLC. The St. Lawrence Valley SPCA, Inc. will also be featured among the participating vendors.

The competitive cornerstone of the event remains its judged car show. Classic car registration is $10 per vehicle. Backed by dozens of local corporate sponsors, organizers will hand out a variety of specialty trophies, including “Best of Show” sponsored by St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, as well as cash prizes for “Longest Distance” from Blue Heron Realty and the “Hard Luck” award from Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper and VanHouse, CPA.

The awards lineup also features several specialty memorial trophies. The awards for Best Truck, Best Corvette, and Best Mopar will be presented in memory of Wayne Izzo, while UD Trophies will sponsor an award in memory of Don Morley.

Vendor registration remains open, with rates set at $50 for St. Lawrence County Chamber members, $75 for non-members, and $25 for non-profit organizations. Find out more at https://tinyurl.com/5xhsjefj.
