The TSA is once again asking travelers to stop hiding live animals in their clothing when going through airport security. The warning follows several strange cases, including snakes hidden in a passenger’s pants at Miami International Airport in 2024, two turtles tucked inside a woman’s bra there in 2025, and another turtle found in a passenger’s pants at Newark. One of the turtles from the Miami case later died.
The agency used a new social media post to remind travelers that reptiles do not belong under clothing, even if passengers think they can sneak them through screening. TSA says anyone traveling with a pet should first check the airline’s rules, along with federal security requirements. Travelers with unusual questions can also contact AskTSA before heading to the airport.
